ORTEC shallow hole survey probes are designed to measure mines, tailings dumps and landfills, old nuclear material facilities and other waste management sites by utilizing boreholes.
In waste management applications, high-resolution spectral measurements are highly desirable, which means the use of high-purity germanium (HPGe) detection systems. The compact dewar has been engineered to provide 0.77 liters of LN2 for detector cooling and when used with a detector with a 70mm end cap diameter it provides a hold time of approximately 16 hours.
When used with a detector with a 70mm end cap diameter, this compact system has an outer diameter of 2.95 inches, making it usable on 3.25-inch ID pipes, casings, holes, etc. Ideal for shallow depth drilling. A single cable and dewar easily fit within the 3.25-inch ID space.
The shallow hole measurement probe supports PopTop or Streamline cold finger/Dewar.
