Detailed introduction

ORTEC Model 296 ScintiPack Photomultiplier Base with Preamplifier and High Voltage Supply
  • Suitable for scintillation detectors using Class 10 PMT that plugs into a standard 14-pin socket
  • Internal adjustable high voltage bias supply eliminates the need for high voltage cables
  • Built-in spectral preamplifier prevents box from floating
  • Active biasing minimizes peak shift at high count rates
  • Anode timing output for compliance measurements
  • Low power consumption (240 mW) for portable applications
  • Convenient single cable connection suitable for most applications

The ScintiPack photomultiplier tube base (Type 296) offers everything you need in a scintillation detector in a compact package: low power, adjustable, high voltage power supply, active bias and spectral preamplifier. Incorporating the bias supply into the photomultiplier tube base eliminates the need for high-voltage cables to connect to a bulky external high-voltage power supply. ScintiPack operates with extremely low power consumption (240 mW). This makes the ScintiPack ideal for portable applications as well as high-density detector arrays.
