The ORTEC Model 9305 fast preamplifier contains a direct-coupled broadband hybrid amplifier suitable for use with photomultiplier tubes, electron multipliers and other detectors used in photon counting, ion counting or fast timing applications.

In addition to fast rise time (<3 ns), the Type 9305 features a variable voltage gain of 5-10x and can drive ±5 V into a 50 Ω load. The 9305 also features excellent DC and gain stability along with low noise and <5 ns overload recovery time. Input overload protection is also provided.

Hybrid circuit technology gives the Model 9305 high performance and reliability. In order to facilitate operation, independent bandwidth (BDW), output DC offset (DC) and fine-tuning gain (GAIN) adjustment functions are provided.

Due to its small size and light weight, the Model 9305 is ideal for mounting directly to or close to the detector. Therefore, low-level signals that are susceptible to distortion by noise or interference are amplified to an appropriate level for cable connection to the main amplifier. Connects to power via Model 9305's 10-foot cable.
