Detailed introduction

ORTEC Alphavision Alpha Spectroscopy Software
AlphaVision can control the MCB hardware, collect alpha particle spectra from the detector, analyze the results using one of the methods and generate a report. Results and QA data are stored in a database for easy integration with other software. Numerous menus are available to perform all acquisition and analysis functions, such as acquisition control, analysis parameter settings, calibration and library editing. Graphical display of individual detector status and logical grouping of detectors in the system enable the interface to display the online status of up to 128 alpha detectors. AlphaVision can manage almost any alpha spectrum measurement project, including every necessary step and features to optimize the results.

    Supported hardware
ORTEC recommends the use of Alpha Suite integrated spectrometers (Alpha Aria, Duo, Ensemble and Mega) to take advantage of software-controlled operation and Windows 10 64-bit USB connectivity.

Legacy instruments are compatible with ORTEC connectivity, such as ORTEC OCTÊTE-PC, OCTÊTE Plus, 576A, Soloist, 920 Series, Oxford OASIS, and ORTEC 676 Alpha King, Tennelec TC-256, via ORTEC Canberra 7401/7404 models supported by mcb can be connected via a network to a computer running a compatible operating system or using DPM-USB for native Windows 10 compatibility (if supported). For questions about legacy instrument compatibility, please contact your local ORTEC representative.

    Analytical methods
    • Peak search/fitting methods: second derivative (Mariscotti), top-hat correlation, peak interference correction, ROI (Region of Interest), including automatic offset of ROI based on tracer peak, peak or all peak positions, and interactive ROI adjustment to optimize peak fitting during reanalysis.
    • Calculation of nuclide activity: (without tracer), tracer recovery correction, chemical recovery correction (automatic and manual), background subtraction, blank subtraction, total propagation uncertainty.
    • MDA method: KTA, Currie, ANSI N13.30, (including corrections such as dilution ratio, tracer and chemical recovery).
    • Presets: real and live time, tracer area, MDA.
