Brief description:Developed in collaboration with the Department of Radiological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, the RSD's Chest and Lung Phantom is specifically designed to provide a high degree of realism in chest radiography. RSD materials are equivalent to natural bone and soft tissue. The animals' lungs were selected to match the size of adult males. The lungs were held in an inflated state and shaped to conform to the pleural space of the phantom. The pulmonary artery was injected with a blood-equivalent amount of plastic.
