DachangMRI Distortion Phantom, CIRS 604 MRI and CT Distortion Detection Phantom is designed for the evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging distortion caused primarily by nonlinearities in magnetic gradients. It can also help quantify susceptibility to MRI image distortion due to chemical shifts and density differences common in diagnosis and RT treatment planning. The phantom's large size and equally spaced 3D mesh in all three orthogonal dimensions make it suitable for distortion QA of large-aperture MRI and CT scans for distortion-free imaging. The phantom can be filled with various signal generation solutions for magnetic resonance imaging. Depending on the liquid used to generate the MRI background signal, the contrast at the grid-liquid interface changes under computed tomography. When empty, the grid-air interface provides good contrast under CT.
The CIRS 604 MRI and CT distortion detection phantom consists of a leak-proof PMMA cylinder with a diameter of 330 mm and a length of 300 mm. The entire volume is populated with a unique orthogonal 3D grid that is 3 mm in diameter and spaced 20 mm apart to provide complete geometric data throughout the imaging volume. The phantom is marked for easy alignment with the positioning laser and is designed for use on curved and flat gantry tables.
