Detailed introduction

ORTEC 439 Digital Current Integrator
  • Measures the average value of DC or pulse current
  • Can be used as a digital current integrator, digital charge integrator or digital electrometer
  • wide dynamic range
  • Inputs protected to ±1000 V (0.01 μF) or ±2000 V (0.001 μF)

ORTEC 439The digital current integrator is designed to accurately measure DC current or the average value of pulsed current generated by an accelerator beam. It digitizes the input current by generating an output pulse for a specific input charge value. Front panel switch selects three different charge levels (10-10、10-8or10-6Coulomb) to generate output pulses. This instrument has from0Arrive10 kHzdigitizing frequency that provides a wide dynamic range at every setup, enabling high-resolution readings without the need for meter interpolation.

Use the Type 439 in conjunction with a preset counter to form a digital charge integrator. Combine this with a counter and timer to get a digital electrometer.

Read the input current via the front panel meter. Rear-panel binding posts provide full-scale analog outputs of 1 mA, 100 mV, and 10 mV. Full-scale readings for the front panel meter and analog output can be selected from 1 X 10-9 to 1 X 10-2 A, in 15 steps. The inputs are protected from damage by applying a large input charge.

Front and rear panel BNC connectors can apply a gate signal to inhibit the digital output. This gate can be used to remotely control the Model 439, or to suppress the digitized output via a multi-channel analyzer dead time output signal.

The Model 439 can be combined with an ORTEC preset counter to form a digital charge integrator, or with a counter and timer to form a digital electrometer.
