Detailed introduction

USACIRS 602 3D torso phantom

Product introduction:

USAThe CIRS 602 3D Torso Phantom is designed to provide a precise simulation of the average male torso for medical imaging applications. The detachable organ allows flexible placement of TLD, contrast media, etc. The epoxy resin material used to create the phantom provides tissue simulation in the diagnostic energy range (40 keV to 20 MeV).

USAThe CIRS 602 three-dimensional torso phantom will accurately simulate the physical density and linear attenuation of actual tissue to within 2% within the diagnostic energy range. As an example, Table 1 gives simulation results for a general tissue containing 36% fat/64% muscle.

Each phantom contains lungs, heart, liver, pancreas, kidneys and spleen. The lower portion of the CIRS 602 three-dimensional torso phantom contains a removable soft bolus material that simulates a mixture of 50% fat and 50% muscle tissue.

This insert serves to maintain the position of the organs when the phantom is placed upright. For easy removal, the bolus is wrapped in a mesh bag. Muscle-simulating material is layered over the ribs and spine.

External envelope simulationA mixture of 36% fat and 64% muscle tissue. The bottom of the CIRS 602 three-dimensional torso phantom was sealed with an acrylic plate. Water or blood simulating fluids can be used to fill all interstitial voids.
