Introduction:
USAThe CIRS 049/049A elastic QA ultrasound phantom is a tool developed for ultrasound elastography systems. These are commercially available quality-assured models for sonoelastography. The phantom contains targets of known stiffness relative to the background material and ranges of stiffness, diameter, and depth.
Elasticity QA Phantoms are suitable for determining the dynamic range of a system, examining system performance over time, demonstrating system capabilities, and training personnel and customers in this rapidly evolving field. Researchers can also use models to develop and validate new technologies.
The CIRS 049 elastic phantom is a basic QA model as it contains two sphere sizes with different depths. At each depth, there are two spheres that are softer than the background and two spheres that are harder than the background.
For a wider range of target sizes it is now possible to useType 049A. The 049A elastic phantom has a step mass target instead of a sphere. Each step mass consists of six diameters, so you can evaluate the ability to visualize targets at the same depth and with the same stiffness but different diameters. The CIRS 049A elastomeric phantom comes in the same size container as the original model CIRS 049 elastomeric phantom.
Both models come standard with a four-year warranty and a hard-sided foam-lined carrying case.
