The CIRS Model 600 3D cross-sectional torso model phantom is designed to provide a precise simulation of the average male torso (22 cm PA thickness) for medical imaging and dosimetry applications. The epoxy resin material used to fabricate the phantom provides excellent tissue simulation in the diagnostic and therapeutic energy range (40keV to 20MeV).

Unlike other cross-sectional dosimetry models,CIRS Model 600 3D cross-sectional torso model phantom includes internal organ structures such as lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, spleen and pancreas. All simulated organs match the tissue density of real organs and are clearly visible.

The lower part of the CIRS 600 3D cross-sectional torso model phantom contains a soft pellet that simulates a mixture of 30% fat and 70% muscle tissue. Muscle-simulating material is layered over the ribs and spine. The outer envelope simulates a mixture of 43% fat and 57% muscle tissue.
